An Abstract Piece

This is an abstract piece that I have just finished. I was very much inspired by the beautifuly crafted cabochon that Cathy, the talented designer behind Pink Glass Palace (http://pinkglasspalace.etsy.com/), made. She added interesting red lines criss-crossing through a sea of shimmery green. I did the silver setting by trying to emulate these lines and had them protruding from the sides of the bezel. It took a lot of trials and errors before I was able to get those details to appear just as I had envisioned them when I was sketching out the piece. I finished the necklace off with a beaded cord, alternating different shades of red to bring out the colors in the cabochon.

Custom Fine Silver Men's Signet Ring

This is the first commission piece that I have done for a man. He requested a signet ring with his initials on the front and a 3mm stone on each side. The left-hand side has a sapphire, his favorite stone; and the right-hand side has a yellow topaz, his birthstone. The challenge with this ring was to ensure that the front stayed flat while the sides curved and tapered off. Also, I made it in two pieces so that the front would be thicker and this was the second challenge as I did not want any seams to show. I'm very happy with the end result and I'm hoping that my client will be as well!
